1.Trying to Monetize The Blog Before You Have Potential Readers and Audience
A lot of bloggers come up with an idea for a great product and release it before they have any target group or engagement.
Before you monetize your blog you need to have an audience (even a small audience is good) to sell your products to.
Another common mistake is that people sometimes wait too long before they grow their audience and they never end up releasing a product as they think their audience is small.
If you have 100 followers who are interested in what you are going and what kind of products you are selling, you could launch a successful business.
This advice is about creating a group of people who like your products and trust what you offer.
2. Focus on Numbers Instead of Customer Engagement
It is not just about how many subscribers or followers you have. Yes, if you have tons of subscribers and thousands of page views, it is helpful, however, if those people barely care about your products, then you are in trouble.
Numbers aren’t important and big numbers don’t mean that you are successful.
Engagement is crucial. You should focus on getting new followers but in the meantime, you should also put time into engaging with the ones you have and building stronger connections.
Think of your followers like your friends. For example, if you had less friends and spent your time hanging out with them and creating a relationship with them, you would have a lot of people who really care about you.
Launching a product to a large group of people won’t be as effective as launching to a smaller group of people who are obsessed with your blog.
3. Market the Products Incorrectly
If you have no idea what your potential customers would be interested in buying, don’t guess.
It is important to determine your target audience and understand what your audience wants from you. You can observe in Facebook groups, join Twitter chats, do a survey or best – aks them.
Once you know who your target audience is, you can work on positioning your products so that your people will see the value in it.
If you don’t know your target group, you will market the products incorrectly and you won’t achieve anything.
No one will purchase your products and you won’t make any sale.
6. Give Up If You Don’t See Results Fast
There are at least 150 million blogs out there. Even though we can’t tell how many of those blogs are able to earn a full-time income, it is certainly not 150 million.
Many of those people aren’t making money because they quit before they had a chance. It is easy to think of popular brands and big players and assume they got there because they are lucky. Many of the people you admire have been working on their blogs for years.
So, does that mean that you have to wait years before you can make a full-time income? No, you just need to find the right strategies that can help you get there faster.
You need to focus on the things that are effective. Provide value for your readers and you will be surprised how quickly you can get there.
Have you made any of these six mistakes yourself? It is okay if you did.
